Defibrillator calibration services for crash carts, ICUs and AEDs
Delivered energy, charge time, synchronised cardioversion and AED rhythm recognition verified on site with a calibrated defibrillator analyser.
What our defibrillator calibration services include
A defibrillator is used rarely but must work first time. Batteries age, capacitors weaken and paddles or pads cables wear, and none of this is visible on a daily self-test screen alone. A measured discharge into a defibrillator analyser shows what the device really delivers.
Biphasic defibrillator testing is done at several energy settings across the range. The analyser records delivered energy, peak current and waveform, and we compare the results with the manufacturer's tolerance. Charge time is timed from the charge command to ready, both on mains and on battery.
AED calibration uses simulated shockable and non-shockable rhythms from the analyser to confirm that the device advises a shock only when it should. Results feed into your wider medical equipment calibration records.

Why defibrillators need measured testing
No second chance
In a cardiac arrest the team relies on the energy shown on the screen being the energy delivered. Measured testing confirms it.
Hidden battery wear
A battery can pass a self-test yet charge slowly under load. Timed charge tests on battery reveal this before an emergency.
Code blue readiness
Accreditation reviews look for current test records on every crash cart and public-access AED in the building.
Parameters checked in biphasic defibrillator testing
- Delivered energy at low, mid and maximum settings into a standard test load
- Charge time on mains and on battery
- Synchronised cardioversion: shock timing relative to the R-wave
- ECG monitoring through paddles, pads and leads
- AED calibration: shock advice on shockable and non-shockable rhythms
- External pacing output and rate, where fitted
- Internal discharge and energy dump function
- Electrical safety per IEC 62353 and inspection of paddles, cables and pads
Where we test defibrillators

- ICU and CCU
- Emergency departments
- Operation theatres
- Cath labs
- Ambulances
- Public-access AEDs
- Corporate and school AEDs
How often to schedule defibrillator calibration services
Most hospitals book defibrillator calibration services at least once a year, following the manufacturer's guidance, with daily or shift-wise user checks recorded on the crash cart log.
Test again after any repair, battery replacement, drop, or a discharge that staff felt was abnormal. AEDs in public places should be checked on the same schedule, since they are often forgotten until they are needed.
Keep each certificate with the equipment record, enter the next due date in your maintenance schedule and show both to auditors when asked. We keep a record of due dates for every client and can send a reminder before the next visit is needed, so nothing slips out of calibration between your regular audits.
On-site defibrillator calibration services across Tamil Nadu
Our engineers bring the defibrillator analyser to your site, so crash carts stay where they are and each unit is out of service for a short period only. Testing is coordinated with the ward in charge so cover is never lost.
We serve hospitals, ambulance operators and organisations with AEDs in Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Coimbatore, Krishnagiri and other districts. See our hospital calibration services and onsite calibration services.
Each certificate records the device details, analyser used, delivered energy at each setting, charge times and measurement uncertainty, issued within the laboratory's NABL scope where applicable.
Calibrate the full resuscitation set
Defibrillators are usually tested alongside ECG machine calibration, patient monitor calibration and suction apparatus calibration, which together make up most of a crash cart.
How the work is carried out
List
Share all defibrillators and AEDs with make, model, serial number and location.
Test
Each unit is discharged into a calibrated defibrillator analyser at several settings, with charge time, sync and AED checks.
Safety
IEC 62353 electrical safety tests and a physical inspection of paddles, pads, cables and batteries.
Certify
You receive a certificate per unit and a summary showing any devices that need service.
