Laminar air flow testing services in India for labs, pharma and hospitals
On-site LAF testing covering air velocity, HEPA filter integrity, particle count and smoke pattern, with calibrated instruments and traceable reports.
What laminar air flow testing in India covers
A laminar air flow unit protects the product or sample by sweeping the work zone with HEPA-filtered air. If the filter leaks, the velocity drops or the airflow becomes turbulent, contamination can reach the work surface without any visible sign. Laminar air flow testing in India gives measured evidence that the unit still performs as intended.
Our laminar air flow testing services in India cover horizontal and vertical LAF units, dispensing booths, sampling booths and clean air modules, tested on-site using calibrated anemometers, aerosol generators, photometers and particle counters. Each unit receives a report with readings, acceptance criteria and a clear conclusion.

Why LAF testing matters
Aseptic protection
Sterility testing, media preparation, dispensing and cell work depend on clean unidirectional airflow over the work zone.
Hidden filter damage
Pinhole leaks and failed gaskets are only found by an aerosol challenge scan, not by visual inspection.
Audit evidence
GMP, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 15189 and NABH assessments ask for current LAF test reports.

How laminar air flow testing services in India are performed
Air velocity is measured with a calibrated anemometer at a grid of points a short distance below or in front of the filter face, and the average and spread are compared with the manufacturer's or user's acceptance range.
For HEPA integrity, PAO or DOP aerosol is introduced upstream of the filter at a known concentration. The downstream face and the filter-to-frame seal are scanned with a photometer probe, and any reading above the leak threshold is located and reported.
Particle counts are taken in the work zone with the unit running, and the result is compared with the target ISO 14644 class. A smoke pattern test then shows whether airflow stays unidirectional over the work surface and across the front opening.
Laminar air flow testing in India: where we work
Vanavil Calibrations is based in Salem and offers laminar air flow testing services in India through on-site visits across Tamil Nadu and nearby states. For locations outside Tamil Nadu, please contact us to discuss scheduling and logistics before planning work.
Grouping several LAF units, biosafety cabinets and cleanroom tests into one visit makes travel worthwhile and keeps all reports on the same cycle. Our clean room testing in Tamil Nadu page covers the wider service.
How often should LAF units be tested?
Most facilities test LAF units every six to twelve months, as set by their SOPs, regulator or customer requirements. Testing is also needed after HEPA filter replacement, relocation of the unit or any damage to the filter or housing.
Daily checks such as the pressure gauge reading and a visual inspection help between tests but do not replace formal laminar air flow testing services in India with calibrated instruments and a documented report.
All instruments used are calibrated with traceable certificates, and the report lists them so an auditor can follow the measurement chain.
Keep each certificate with the equipment record, enter the next due date in your maintenance schedule and show both to auditors when asked. We keep a record of due dates for every client and can send a reminder before the next visit is needed, so nothing slips out of calibration between audits.
