QC laboratory validation and microbiology lab validation
Quality control and microbiology labs decide whether products are released. Their environment and equipment must be beyond doubt. We validate the rooms, cabinets and instruments your lab relies on.
A controlled lab for reliable results
A QC laboratory's decisions affect every batch it tests. If the lab environment introduces contamination or the instruments drift, results may be wrong in either direction: releasing a poor batch or rejecting a good one. Validation removes that doubt.
Microbiology laboratories need particular care. Sterility testing areas are often cleanrooms with strict classification and pressure requirements, while biosafety cabinets protect both the sample and the analyst. Room tests, cabinet tests and equipment calibration work together.
Critical instruments include incubators, autoclaves, refrigerators, balances and pipettes, all of which affect test results. We calibrate these through our laboratory equipment calibration and weighing balance calibration services.
Containment and protective equipment is covered by our biosafety cabinet testing and fume hood testing services.

Sterility testing suites need extra care
Sterility test areas are often designed as cleanrooms with a critical zone inside a biosafety cabinet, LAF unit or isolator. A false positive caused by the environment can lead to costly investigations and batch rejection. Classification, pressure, cabinet performance and smoke studies together reduce this risk.
Testing is planned around the lab's schedule, so routine analysis is not interrupted.
Instruments that affect results
Incubators must hold temperature for valid microbial growth, autoclaves must sterilize media and waste, balances and pipettes must measure accurately, and refrigerators must protect reagents and samples. Each instrument's calibration status should be current and documented before results are relied upon. Read our laboratory equipment guide for more.
Planning validation around the lab
QC and microbiology labs run continuous testing schedules, so validation is planned in phases. Rooms and cabinets can be tested on quieter days, while instruments are calibrated in rotation so the lab always has enough calibrated equipment available.
Before the visit, share a list of rooms, cabinets and instruments with their locations and current calibration dates. This lets us plan an efficient schedule and make sure nothing is missed.
After the visit, each instrument and area receives its own record, making it simple to show inspectors exactly what was validated and when.
What lab validation often reveals
Typical findings include biosafety cabinets with falling inflow velocity, incubators reading away from their set point, pressure differences that shrink when doors open and storage refrigerators with uneven temperature. Each is straightforward to correct once identified, and retesting confirms the fix.
