Patient monitor calibration services for ICUs, wards and operation theatres
On-site verification of every parameter on your multiparameter and vital signs monitors, using calibrated patient simulators, with traceable certificates your biomedical team can file for audits.
What our patient monitor calibration services cover
A multiparameter monitor is several measuring instruments in one housing. Each module drifts or fails in its own way: a NIBP pump develops a leak, an SpO2 probe cable wears out, an IBP channel loses its zero. Multiparameter monitor calibration treats each channel as a separate instrument and compares its reading with a known reference value.
Our engineers bring calibrated simulators to your hospital: a patient simulator for ECG and respiration, an NIBP simulator for cuff pressure and leak tests, an SpO2 simulator for saturation and pulse rate, and IBP and temperature references. Results are recorded as found, adjustments are made only where the manufacturer allows, and readings are recorded again as left.
Our patient monitor calibration services fit into a wider medical equipment calibration programme, so ICU monitors, ECG machines and defibrillators can be covered in the same visit.

Why vital signs monitor calibration matters
Clinical decisions
Drug doses, fluid therapy and escalation decisions are made on monitor readings. A NIBP or SpO2 error that nobody notices goes straight into the patient record.
Alarm reliability
A monitor that reads correctly but alarms late is still unsafe. Vital signs monitor calibration checks that high and low alarm limits trigger when they should.
Accreditation evidence
NABH assessors and internal quality teams ask for current calibration records for critical care equipment. A traceable certificate per monitor answers that request quickly.
Parameters checked during multiparameter monitor calibration
- ECG: heart rate accuracy across low, normal and high rates, lead-off detection and arrhythmia recognition
- NIBP calibration: static cuff pressure accuracy, leak test and overpressure safety valve
- SpO2 calibration: saturation and pulse rate response at several set points
- IBP monitor calibration: transducer zero, static pressure accuracy and waveform display
- Respiration calibration: impedance respiration rate and apnoea alarm
- Temperature: probe channel accuracy against a reference value
- Alarm limits, audible and visual alarm function, and battery operation
- Electrical safety per IEC 62353: protective earth, equipment and applied part leakage

How often patient monitors need calibration
Most hospitals schedule patient monitor calibration services once a year, in line with manufacturer recommendations and their own equipment management policy. Monitors in intensive care, theatres and emergency areas are often given priority because they run continuously.
A monitor should also be checked after a repair, a module replacement, a software update, a drop, or whenever clinical staff report readings that do not match the patient. Your biomedical engineering team sets the final interval; we provide the data to support it.
NIBP calibration deserves particular attention. Cuffs, hoses and connectors are handled many times a day, and small leaks are one of the most common findings during a routine check.
Keep each certificate with the equipment record, enter the next due date in your maintenance schedule and show both to auditors when asked. We keep a record of due dates for every client and can send a reminder before the next visit is needed, so nothing slips out of calibration between audits.
On-site patient monitor calibration services across Tamil Nadu
Monitors are calibrated at your hospital, ward by ward, so clinical areas lose each unit for a short time only. We coordinate with nursing and biomedical staff to work through monitors in sequence rather than taking a whole unit offline.
We serve hospitals in Salem, Coimbatore, Erode, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruchirappalli and other districts. See our hospital services page and our onsite calibration services for how visits are planned.
Each certificate lists the monitor make, model, serial number, reference equipment used, as-found and as-left results and measurement uncertainty, issued within the laboratory's NABL scope where applicable. Ask us for the current scope before you plan an audit.
Calibrating the rest of the critical care chain
A monitor is one part of the bedside. The same visit can include ventilator calibration, infusion and syringe pump calibration and pulse oximeter calibration.
How the work is carried out
Plan
Share your monitor list with make, model and location. We schedule the visit area by area with your biomedical team.
Test
Engineers check each channel with calibrated simulators and run IEC 62353 electrical safety tests, recording as-found readings.
Adjust
Where readings fall outside tolerance and the manufacturer allows it, we adjust or refer the unit for service, then record as-left values.
Certify
You receive a traceable calibration certificate for each monitor and a summary list for your equipment register.
