Vanavil Calibrations

Infusion pump calibration services for volumetric and syringe pumps

Flow rate, bolus volume, occlusion pressure and alarms verified with a calibrated infusion device analyser, at your hospital, ward by ward.

Infusion pump calibration services measure the actual flow rate and volume a volumetric or syringe pump delivers, using a calibrated infusion device analyser, and compare it with the programmed rate. The test also covers occlusion pressure alarms, air-in-line detection, bolus delivery, battery operation and in-service electrical safety to IEC 62353.

What our infusion pump calibration services include

Pumps deliver drugs where small rate errors matter: inotropes, sedatives, insulin, heparin, oxytocin and neonatal fluids. Worn plunger drivers, tired peristaltic mechanisms, sticky pressure sensors and incorrect syringe brand settings all change delivery without any obvious sign at the bedside.

Flow rate testing is done with an infusion device analyser that measures delivered volume over time. We test each pump at more than one rate, typically a low and a mid-range rate that reflect clinical use, and record the percentage deviation against the manufacturer's stated accuracy.

Syringe pump calibration also checks plunger detection, syringe size recognition and near-empty and end-of-infusion alarms. Pumps are usually covered in the same visit as patient monitor calibration under a wider medical equipment calibration schedule.

Why syringe pump calibration and flow rate testing matter

Dose accuracy

A pump that runs fast or slow changes the dose given over hours. Measured flow rate testing shows the real delivery.

Occlusion response

A blocked line must raise an alarm promptly. Occlusion pressure and alarm time are measured, not assumed.

Fleet visibility

Hospitals often have many pumps of mixed age. A per-pump certificate shows which units need service or retirement.

Parameters checked in infusion pump calibration

  • Flow rate accuracy at low and mid-range set rates
  • Delivered volume against volume to be infused
  • Bolus volume accuracy, where the pump offers bolus
  • Occlusion pressure level and occlusion alarm
  • Air-in-line detection on volumetric pumps
  • Syringe size recognition, plunger detection, near-empty and end alarms
  • KVO function, battery operation and charging
  • Electrical safety per IEC 62353, plus inspection of clamps, doors and mains lead

Where pumps are calibrated

  • ICU and CCU
  • NICU and PICU
  • Operation theatres
  • Oncology day care
  • Labour rooms
  • Emergency departments
  • General wards
  • Dialysis units

How often infusion pump calibration services are needed

Most hospitals schedule infusion pump calibration services at least once a year, alongside the manufacturer's preventive maintenance. Pumps used for high-alert medicines or in neonatal care are often prioritised in the schedule.

Pumps should also be tested after a drop, a fluid spill into the mechanism, a repair, a firmware update, or when nurses report unexpected alarms or finishing times that do not match the programme.

Keeping a list of pumps by serial number and location makes recalls and planning simpler. We return results in a format you can add straight to your equipment register.

Keep each certificate with the equipment record, enter the next due date in your maintenance schedule and show both to auditors when asked. We keep a record of due dates for every client and can send a reminder before the next visit is needed, so nothing slips out of calibration between audits.

On-site infusion pump calibration services across Tamil Nadu

Pumps are tested at your hospital, so they are not lost in transit or away from wards for days. We work through pumps ward by ward while keeping enough units available for patients.

We serve hospitals in Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruchirappalli and nearby districts. See our hospital calibration services and onsite calibration services.

Each certificate shows pump details, analyser used, set and measured rates, percentage error, occlusion results and measurement uncertainty. Certificates are issued within the laboratory's NABL scope where applicable.

Other bedside equipment to calibrate together

Pumps sit beside ventilators and suction apparatus in most ICUs. Testing them in one visit keeps all critical care records on the same cycle.

How the work is carried out

01

List

Share pump make, model, serial number and ward. We plan the order to keep wards supplied.

02

Measure

Each pump is run into a calibrated infusion device analyser at set rates, with bolus and occlusion tests.

03

Safety

IEC 62353 electrical safety tests and checks of alarms, battery and mechanical parts.

04

Certify

You receive a certificate per pump and a summary highlighting units outside tolerance.

One accountable team, documented results

NABL-Accredited

Calibration and testing carried out under NABL accreditation and ISO/IEC 17025:2017-compliant procedures.

On-Site & Laboratory Capability

Work carried out at your facility or in our laboratory, by one accountable team.

Serving Since 2022

Serving hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical and industrial clients across Tamil Nadu since 2022.

Frequently asked questions

Flow rate and volume accuracy, bolus, occlusion pressure and alarm, air-in-line, syringe recognition, battery and IEC 62353 electrical safety.
Yes. Syringe pump calibration covers flow rate, plunger and syringe detection, occlusion and near-empty alarms.
At least annually is common practice, plus after repair, a drop or a fluid spill, or when staff report unusual behaviour.
The pump delivers into an infusion device analyser that measures volume over time at each set rate, and the error is reported as a percentage.
Certificates are traceable to national standards and issued within the laboratory's NABL scope where applicable.
