Vanavil Calibrations

Semiconductor clean room testing for electronics and PCB manufacturing

In electronics manufacturing, a single particle can short a circuit or ruin a bond. We test the clean rooms and controlled areas where boards, components and assemblies are made, and document their performance against ISO 14644.

Semiconductor clean room testing is the measurement of airborne particle concentration, airflow, pressure and environmental conditions in clean rooms used for semiconductor, microelectronics, PCB and precision electronics manufacturing, to confirm they meet their ISO 14644 class. Vanavil Calibrations provides this testing on-site across Tamil Nadu.

Clean air for clean electronics

Electronics clean rooms are often designed for ISO Class 5 to Class 8, depending on the process. Particle counts, unidirectional airflow over critical work areas and stable temperature and humidity all contribute to yield.

We carry out particle count classification, airflow velocity and uniformity, HEPA filter integrity, pressure differential, temperature and humidity and recovery testing. Where your process needs it, we also check environmental conditions in ESD protected areas.

Particles and humidity affect yield

Higher yield

Controlling particles over critical work zones reduces defects and rework.

Customer audits

OEM and customer audits often ask for current clean room classification reports.

Stable processes

Stable temperature and humidity support soldering, coating and static control.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the process. Many electronics and PCB areas are designed around ISO Class 7 or 8, with ISO Class 5 zones over critical work. Your process and customer requirements define the class.
Particle counts are taken at locations set by ISO 14644 and compared with Class 5 limits, together with airflow velocity and uniformity checks over the unidirectional flow zone.
We check environmental conditions that support static control, such as temperature and humidity, as part of clean room testing. Specialised ESD equipment testing can be discussed separately.
Yes. Testing can be done at rest or in operation, and the report states which condition applied.
