Temperature mapping and humidity mapping for storage and controlled spaces

A single display on the wall tells you the temperature at one point. Temperature mapping shows what is happening everywhere else, so you know where it is safe to store product and where it is not.

Temperature mapping is a study that places calibrated data loggers across a storage area or chamber to record how temperature, and often relative humidity, varies over time and position. Vanavil Calibrations carries out temperature mapping for cold rooms, freezers, refrigerators, stability chambers and warehouses.

Find the hot and cold spots before your product does

Air does not mix perfectly. Corners, doors, top shelves and areas near cooling units can run warmer or colder than the controller shows. Mapping reveals those differences and where the worst-case positions are.

We place calibrated loggers in a planned grid, record data over an agreed period and analyse the results for spread, stability and excursions. The report identifies suitable storage zones and the best position for your routine monitoring sensor.

Mapping complements instrument calibration rather than replacing it. For the sensors and controllers themselves see Temperature Calibration, and read our temperature mapping guide for more background.

Storage conditions protect product quality

Product protection

Vaccines, blood, reagents, medicines and food lose quality outside their storage range.

Regulatory expectations

Pharmaceutical and healthcare storage audits expect evidence that storage areas are qualified.

Better monitoring

Mapping shows where to place your monitoring sensor so it reflects the real worst case.

How the work is carried out

01

Study plan

We agree logger positions, duration and acceptance criteria for the space.

02

Logger placement

Calibrated loggers are placed across the space, including likely hot and cold spots.

03

Data collection

Temperature and humidity are recorded for the agreed period.

04

Report

You receive graphs, analysis, hot and cold spots and recommendations.

One accountable team, documented results

NABL-Accredited

Calibration and testing carried out under NABL accreditation and ISO/IEC 17025:2017-compliant procedures.

On-Site & Laboratory Capability

Work carried out at your facility or in our laboratory, by one accountable team.

Serving Since 2022

Serving hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical and industrial clients across Tamil Nadu since 2022.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the space and your requirements. Small units may be studied over a day; rooms and warehouses often need longer so that door openings and daily cycles are captured.
Often both. An empty study shows how the space itself performs; a loaded study shows conditions under normal use. We help you choose based on your requirements.
Typically after installation, after significant changes to layout, equipment or use, and periodically as set by your quality system.
Yes. Where relative humidity matters, loggers record both, and the report covers each parameter.
